Objectives :
- In keeping with our discipline’s ideal of “RE-DISCOVERING THE PAST,” cultivate lifelong inspired learners from all over the nation by providing them with a multifaceted education and ongoing engagement with the most recent local, national, and international issues and historical discoveries..
- To develop a historical thinking that goes beyond the linear narrative of past and set it anchored to right historical thinking by developing critical analysis of the sources and their interpretation of the past.
To teach them how to use , analyse and interpretation of evidence, structure them on how historical research, frame an argument and Debate Details which have bearing on the present.
To develop local history by encouraging students to constructivist History of the locality by encouraging students to explore different dimensions of the past by collecting evidence from land officials ,temples, archaeological sites etc.
- To enhancement of the knowledge of Odia Grammar.

The History Department serves as a resource for anyone interested in learning more about Historical facts and events. The Department actively participates in the College’s extracurricular activities. The History Department takes part each year in organizing seminars, assignments, Peer teaching. Seminar by Resource Persons and Seminar by Final year Students every year organised by Department.
