Objective :

  •  Main goal is to improve our students’ English speaking, reading, critical thinking, and analytical abilities.
  • To apply theory  and criticism  to study  literature .
  • To encourage an international approach to literature study and thorough language enhancement, as well as to broaden our students’ comprehension of the numerous ideas associated with comparative literature study.
  • To help learners build a warm relationship with the cultural elements of their daily environment.
  • To use English literature and language to promote Indian culture, values, and ethics.  
  • To offer students enrolled in different programs high-quality instruction in English language and literature using an interdisciplinary approach.
  •  To communicate a broad range of terms and methods for thinking about them.
  • To plan seminars, extension lectures,  to publish critical and creative works in the proper venues.
  • To provide chances to investigate morals, values, manners, and identity.
  • Every academic year, the department strives to get every student ready for placement programs in a professional manner.

Events and Activities

The English Department is a valuable resource for those interested in literature and plays an active role in the college’s extracurricular activities. Each year, the department organizes seminars led by both resource persons and final-year students, as well as peer teaching sessions, assignments, and internal assessments. Additionally, students arrange welcome and farewell ceremonies to motivate first-year and graduating students, and final-year students undertake project work as part of their academic development.
